VIN number

Ive been searching and searching for the chassis VIN number. Its supposed to be on the nearside rear arch..... and if you look carefully enough on my frame, you can just about see it.... or at least 2 characters of it ... and a star!

Do you think this frame is really worth the effort? :-/

Hughie here - Do you have the log book for the bike? If so, I would use a sheet of your steel stock to punch the VIN number onto and then weld the plate on the bike. Some people could suggest it might appear that the bike has been "ringed" but if you cut out and keep the rusted section showing the original damaged VIN number plus the pictures showing what it looked like after shot blasting then I think that would satisfy the most hardened cynic. I know someone with the full set of punches for letters and numbers if you want to go down that route.

Of course it is, it's the challenge that's the reason for going on.

Will you have to stamp a new plate with the VIN number and weld it somewhere? I had to do that with the TF before inspection. You may need one for the MOT?
